Shabbat Study: Timing the Seventh Day

Section 9 of 21

Section 09

"And Yahwah spoke to Mashah, saying, 'Speak to the children of Yasharal, and say to them; The appointed times of Yahwah, which you shall proclaim, clean proclamations, these my appointed times.'" (Wiqara/Leviticus 23:1-2)

As shown earlier, Father Yahwah is introducing His appointed times, which He says that His children/people of Yasharal shall proclaim/speak out, and they shall be kept and proclaimed to be clean (non-defiled) times....in the manner in which Father Yahwah wants them to be kept/observed. This is the first emphasis He uses in this instruction. Father Yahwah then proceeds to introduce the appointed time of the week, culminating in the 7th day, Shabath rest:

"Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day, a Shabath (rest) of resting, a clean proclamation (calling out). You shall do no work; it is the Shabath (rest/repose/cessation) of Yahwah in all your dwellings (sitting places)." (Wiqara/Leviticus 23:3)

And,

"Remember (recognize) the Shabath day (as opposed to/separated from, the night), to keep it clean. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day (of the week), the Shabath (rest) of Yahwah your Almighty. You shall do no work; you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant (employee), nor your female servant (employee), nor your beasts (of burden), nor your guest who is within your gates (borders). For in six days Yahwah made the heavens (the expanse of the atmosphere) and the earth (dry land), the sea (waters gathered together beneath the heavens), and all that within them, and rested the seventh day (not night). Therefore, Yahwah blessed the Shabath day and cleansed it (set it apart, undefiled)." (Shamwath/Exodus 20:8-11)

The seventh day of undefiled rest points back to what Yahwah Almighty did as sovereign Creator of all during the preceding six daylight periods (not nights); He made all, and accordingly (as Creator) is sovereign over all. The appointed time of the week acknowledges Him as the Sovereign of our work (creating), and of our rest.

Returning to Father Yahwah's double emphasis of Wiqara/Leviticus 23.....

"These the appointed times of Yahwah, clean proclamations (calling outs) which you shall proclaim (call out), in their time appointed." ( Wiqara/Leviticus 23:4)

The above statement by Father at first glance can seem to be a simple restatement of what He has said shortly before, just two verses earlier. But it is not. All of Father Yahwah's words and instructions are fitting, proper, and in order, and have [deep/profound] purpose. Father Yahwah did, nearly word-for-word, restate himself, but He added something in this restatement......He added His [double emphasis] of the words, "in their time appointed."!!!
