Shabbat Study: Timing the Seventh Day

Section 16 of 21

Section 16

When we see the first light ("first sliver") of the yarakh at the culmination of each khadash (renewal time of the moon) we know that we can then, *according to scripture*, begin the appointed time known as "six days you shall do all your work, but the seventh day is the Shabath of Yahwah your Almighty". Day one of (from) the completion of the khadash begins the first shabay (week) after the khadash renewal, ending with day seven of the khadash/month. The second shabay (week) begins on day eight of the khadash/month and ends on day fourteen, and so the fifteenth would, according to the yarakh reckoning of time, be the beginning of the third shabay (week) of *that* khadash/month.

This is where we are now in the text above. The whole congregation of the children of Yasharal is in the wilderness of Sayan on the first day of the third shabay of the khadash complaining that Yahwah has brought them out of the Matsarim bondage to perish! Now they are ready for the test.....they have come out of Matsarim's system and must put their trust in Yahwah's system.

Understanding that it is the third shabay (week) of the second khadash (month) since coming out of Matsarim, we're going to read verses 4 and 5 again:

"Then Yahwah said to Mashah, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My thurah or not. And it shall be on the sixth day (of that shabay or week - day twenty of the second khadash) that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily." And it shall be on the sixth day (day twenty of the second khadash) that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily."

This is a "real time" instruction to the children of Yasharal that contains specific instructions for gathering the manna (Heb - "man") from the morning of the sixteenth day of the third shabay (week) of the second khadash (month) through the morning of the twentieth day of the third shabay of the second khadash. When the text says "it shall be on the sixth day..." it is referring to the sixth day of that shabay (week) when the children of Yasharal complained against Mashah. Continuing with verse 6,

6 "Then Mashah and Ahrawan said to all the children of Yasharal, 'In the evening (on the fifteenth day) you shall know that Yahwah has brought you out of the land of Matsarim; 7 And in the morning (of the 16th day) you shall see the heaviness/burden of Yahwah; for He hears your complaints against Yahwah. But what are we, that you complain against us?' 8 Also Mashah said, 'when Yahwah gives you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full; for Yahwah hears your complaints which you make against Him. And what are we? Your complaints are not against us but against Yahwah.' 9 Then Mashah spoke to Ahrawan, 'Say to all the congregation of the children of Yasharal, 'Come near before Yahwah, for He has heard your complaints.' 10 Now it came to pass, as Ahrawan spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Yasharal, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the heaviness of Yahwah appeared in the cloud. 11 And Yahwah spoke to Mashah, saying, 12 'I have heard the complaints
